Three weeks back home

Welcome to the first blog post of 2013!

We must admit, when we had the idea of doing a travel blog way back in August 2011, we never imagined that 18 months and 138 blog posts later we would still be updating it….life sure takes some unexpected twists and turns along the way.

For those out there that don’t know, we decided to brave the UK cold for longer than our work permits allowed. To make this happen, we had to fly home to Australia for three weeks to get new visas.

While it was slightly annoying to travel 27 hours to the other side of the world just to post our passports to Manila, three weeks in the glorious Australian sun hanging out with our family and friends was more than worth it.

We had an incredible time, full to the brim with five birthday celebrations, family dinners, camping trips, outdoor concerts, barbeques, coffees, and plenty of vitamin D.

We were once again reminded of how lucky we are to have such wonderfully loving, supportive and encouraging family and friends. We felt truly blessed.

While it was definitely that hardest goodbye so far, it was nice to know that Melbourne and all its charms is still there, the best people on the planet have got our back, and that one day we’ll be home again feeling like we never left.

Bring on 2013.
